  • Scientific Name: Papillomaviridae
  • Disease or disorder caused by virus: Skin Warts, Genital Warts, Cancer, Respiratory papillomatis
  • The virus is transmitted through sexual contact
  • Transmission of the disease can be prevented by using condoms,although they do not always work
  • Gardasil, a HPV vaccine was approved for the prevention of HPV in June 2006. It is Given in 3 doses in a period of 6 months
  • The body cells attacked by HPV are Cervical Cells. This can lead to Cervical Cancer
  • There are no common symptomes, except for the warts themselves.They usually appear as soft, moist, pink r flesh colored swellings, usually in the genital area
  • The body defends itself from this disease by attacking invading microbes and cancers which include antibodies and other soldier cells
  • Treatments include the vaccine mentioned before, Gardasil.Many who suffer from HPV report success using organic apple cider vinegatr soaked paper towels applied onto the infected area
