Answers:

1. The virus name is Flavivirus dengue virus.

2. There are two types; Classic and hemorrhagic fever,

3.(INSERT PICTURE HERE) I have one but due to complications I cannot place it on so ill post the link. http://biosingularity.files.wordpress.com/2006/02/dengue.jpg

4. The virus is only transmitted through Aedes egypti female mosquitos or blood products. The mosquito bites an infected person than bites someone else thus spreading virus.

 5. It can be prevented by eliminating or reducing mosquito population. If the mosquitos are controlled than virus won't spread. People can protect themselves by the use of mosquito nets, repellants, covering skin, use of bednets, and avoiding areas where there is a lot of mosquitos.

6. The type of body cell attacked is the antibodies in the body. The virus tricks the host into takeing the virus into immune cells. Antibodies are proteins found in blood, and is used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects.

7. The symptoms is sudden onset of fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pains, and rashes on the skin usually apepearing as bright red petchia. Petchia is small red or purple spots on body caused by minor hemorrhage. It appears first on lower limbs and chest, sometimes spreading to entire body. The person will also show signs of gastritis, commbined with abdominal pain.

8. The body cannot defend itself against Dengue Virus. Dengue Fever makes the person ill and Dengue Hemorrhage Fever is often fatal.

9. There's no vaccines but in 2007 the World Community Grid launched a project to fight Dengue Virus.

10.1) Some 2.5 billion people are at risk in 100 countrist

     2) Dengue is the world's most important re-emerging mosquito-borne viral disease.

     3) As many as 60 million cases occur annually-resulting in some 500,000 hospitalized and 30,000 deaths.

     4) Global Warming has effected the distribution of water and caused the infected mosquitos to multiply, thus increasing spread of virus.

     5) Epidemics occur in crowded urban environments rather than poor rural areas meaning places like Shanghai is perfect spot for a epidemic to happen.
